Installation Procedure - Akeeo External ADSL Modem

Section 1 - Physical Connections
  • Use a telephone cord (RJ-11) to connect the LINE port of the splitter with the phone jack.
  • Use another RJ-11 to connect the ADSL port of the splitter with the LINE port of the ADSL Modem.
  • Use another RJ-11 to connect the telephone set with the PHONE port of the splitter.
    • For Ethernet Connection:
  • Connect Ethernet port of the modem with LAN port of the computer using the provided network cable.
  • Plug in the power cord, and turn on the power. Go to Section 2 for LAN Configuration.
    • For USB Connection:
  • Connect USB port of the ADSL MODEM with USB port of the computer using the USB cable provided.
  • Plug in the power cord, and turn on the power. Go to Section 3 for USB Driver Installation.

Use the following reference diagram for the modem connections:
Section 2 - LAN Configuration (Quick Install):
Step 1

Type "http://192.168.1.1/wizard/wizardConType.htm" in your Web Browser.

Press Enter
Step 2

A screen like the one to the right pops-up. Enter the following information:

User Name: Admin
Password:

Leave Password Blank
Step 3

Select PPoE/PPoA and press Enter
Step 4

Enter the "Username" and "Password" provided by your Service Provider.

Enter the VPI/VCI Values corresponding to the Service Provider.
Step 5

The procedure is complete. Click on Next to Save your Settings.
Step 6
Click on Close. You are ready to surf the Internet your Akeeo External ADSL Modem!
   
Section 3 - USB Driver Installation:
Step 1


Open Installation CD in Explorer. Use the Setup file corresponding to your PC Operating System:

PC Operating System Installation File
Windows Vista 32 bit Setup_Win_Vista_32.exe
Windows Vista 64 bit Setup_Win_Vista_64.exe
Windows XP or 2000 Setup_Win_XP_2k.exe
Windows 98 or ME Setup_Win_98_ME.exe
Linux Follow steps in Linux_USB_driver/readme.txt

Click on Next.
Step 2

Choose "English." Click on Next.
Step 3

Click on Next.
Step 4

Click on Finish to complete USB Driver Installation.

Go to Section 2 - LAN Configuration to complete the Setup.
